We ship via UPS or USPS, ground only. Rush orders are not always available and you should email or call if you have immediate need to confirm time frames.
California Surcharge
Drop shipments to California include a surcharge in the shipping charges to cover California's unconstitutional drop-ship sales tax. The state of California has imposed a sales tax on its residents who order from out of state vendors when the item is drop-shipped from California. California residents have voted this tax into law either directly, or by voting in elected officials that proposed and passed the law. This law is currently being challenged in the courts. It is important to understand that, like normal sales tax and affiliate sales tax (sometimes called the Amazon tax), this is a tax on state residents, not a tax on the business selling the product.
We do not support illegal taxes, but we are forced to charge a handling charge to recoup the tax charge passed along to us by California based suppliers. Under the protections of the US Constitution, which were established to enable fair trade between states, prevent states from interfering in each other's commerce, and prevent abuse of taxes and tariffs, interstate sales tax is illegal. These protections are integral to the economic success and development that the USA has acheived over the last 200 years. Your vote against tax-and-spend politicians is an important voice against unfair taxation.
Illinois
We are an Illinois retailer. Sales tax is charged on all items shipped to Illinois. Resellers and exempt organization should provide their tax letter via email in PDF format or via US Mail.
Minimum Orders
To allow our customers to purchase single items for urgent need, we do not currently have an order minimum. To offset order handling costs, orders under $10 are subject to a $3.95 handling charge. You can avoid the handling charge by ordering more than $10 in items.
Tracking
Tracking notices are sent via e-mail. Please adjust your spam settings to allow email from @tech-world.com addresses.
Returns
New items an be returned within 30 days. Used items are sold as-is and cannot be returned. All returns require prior authorization. This is not a difficult process and requires only an email or phone call to authorize. Items must be returned to designated addresses based on shipper and the products ordered. Returns that are blind-shipped may be rejected by the shippers. If your item is not working properly please contact us via email. We may be able to resolve the issue without a return.
There are some limitations on returns:
- Cable testers and electronics are subject to a 15% restocking fee. This is a necessary step to prevent rental abuse.
- Items returned with damaged packaging or missing components are subject to a 15% restocking fee. Items must be returned in saleable condition to receive full refund credit.
- Returns of items purchased under free shipping offers will be refunded less the actual shipping and handling charges.
- Returns of items purchased under free merchandise offers are subject to charges for free items if return goods reduce the order amount below the purchase qualifications for the order. Free items may be returned to avoid charges.
- Returns or exchanges must be shipped to us via UPS, insured and prepaid. Goods damaged or lost in shipment will not receive credit.
- We do not issue call tags for product returns and do not accept CODs
- All returned items must be in saleable condition, undamaged, unmodified, clean, unmarked and complete with all manuals, accessories, and original packaging and in resaleable condition to receive full credit. Warranty seals must be present and intact.
- Consumable items are not returnable once used. These include but are not limited to: connectors, bulk cable, patch panels, network jacks and punch tools.
- Products will be evaluated upon return to us (or to the manufacturer) to confirm defects prior to issuing any credit. This process may take up to a week.
- Products are not warranted for misuse, or for any consequential damages from their use. Industry standards should be followed for all cable installations. Refer to BCSI or TIA standards for more info.
- You are responsible for testing all cables or devices you manufacture from component parts before attempting to use them. You are solely responsible for the proper and safe use of cables you manufacture.
- Used parts are not returnable. Items designated as as-is are not returnable. We guarantee used equipment against DOA.
- Serial numbers are tracked for security purposes and are matched against returns.
Documentation and W-9
We are a US corporation. W-9's and vendor apps will be provided if requested once you reach the 1099 filing threshold for purchases and not before. See IRS Regulations, section 301.7701-2(b)(8)(i) and this article.
Payments and Purchase Orders
All orders must be prepaid. We are no longer accepting purchase orders. Government credit cards are welcome thru the normal checkout process. PayPal is our credit card processor. You can pay for orders using your credit card or PayPal balance.
