If you are building a new office or just move equipment around alot, this tool is ideal. Just plug it in and it will tell you if the network is live in the jack, or if the NIC is OK. Save time debugging software or configuration problems by verifying the hardware first. LANID PRO also features Portfinder and speed auto-negotiation. Portfinder blinks a network link light so that specific jacks can be traced thru to hubs without tracing patch cables. Auto-negotiation allows the LANIDPRO to be used to determine the optimal rate provided by a device or hub. Use it for pre-installation testing of networking equipment and jacks prior to the arrival of PC equipment. LANID determines the operational status, line speed, duplex capabilites and current line activity on RJ45 Ethernet ports on NICs, hubs or switches.
