The ribbon cable tester is designed to test most commonly used ribbon cables for continuity allowing testing for proper, open and incorrect wiring. LCD Backlit, Audible and visible test results. Tests a variety of ribbon cables. Ribbon to DB-shell cables too. Not all cable configurations are supported.
Tests IDS female(socket headers) and DB ribbon cables. Supported cable types are any combination of IDS10/IDS26/IDS34/IDS40/IDS50/DB9 male/DB15 female on one end and IDS10/IDS16/IDS34/IDS40/IDS50/DB25male/DB25female on the other end.
Click the image to zoom into to view the connector detail. Cables are tested by plugging one end into the right side and one into the left side of the tester.
Connectors on the tester: 10/16/26/34/40/50 male headers for standard straight thru ribbon cables, DB9F, DB15M, DB25M, DB25F for backplane cable testing. SCSI, IDE, Floppy, Game, Serial.
